News & Infos Controlled Deformation
The revolutionary idea of implementing slits to allow non-destructive deformation of the shotcrete lining was further developed with the introduction of deformation elements.
News & Infos Dense Rock-Bolting
In cases of high overburden of the underground opening with deep reaching plastification of the rock mass, stabilisation can be achieved only with a dense rock-bolting scheme.

Strenger Tunnel
The construction of the Strengen Tunnel in west Austria was one of the most challenging tunnelling projects during the last decade.

The difficult geological conditions result from the phyllites, which have been disturbed by complex tectonic activities and were influenced by regional reverse faulting.

These conditions led to deformations of up to 800 mm, which could only be controlled by the application of a dense rock bolting scheme (up to 250 meters of bolts per meter of tunnel) and the installation of deformation elements in the shotcrete lining.
